Details:

This piece started with simple beautiful blended brush strokes. It looked like a white veil over a woman face and purple wisps came down like hair. It all appeared as though she was falling gracefully and intentionally towards earth.

The painting was so hard to capture in photos that I gave up on sharing it through virtual channels. When a dear family friend died of stage 4 lung cancer I took the painting and covered it all in a grey haze. It felt appropriate for this painting to hold my family’s grief since this man had been a kind soul to anyone who knew him and a genuine angel to those he loved and cared for.

The painting sat like this for another year, depressing me every time I looked at it. Since I’m one for reinvigorating and reinventing, I decided to revive this piece with bright resilient of energy, in honor of the legacy this person left on the world vs of the grief of their passing.

It carries a bright and joyous energy now, one Skip would be proud of.
