Erika Rachel

(USA b.1984)

Erika Rachel is best known for her abstract paintings, but has worked in mediums such as screen printing, collage, and photography.

She’s self taught, and started her full time professional art practice in early 2013 as a means of supporting herself after a difficult divorce and the loss of her father.

Her work has exhibited at the Guild Hall Museum (East Hampton, NY), Ashawagh Hall (East Hampton, NY), Paul Labrecque (UES, NYC), Dop Dop (Soho, NYC), Art Expo (Pier 94, NYC), Artworks (Trenton, NJ), Hopewell Valley Vineyards (Pennington NJ), Prallsville Mills (Stockton, NJ), and annually at The “A” Space Gallery (New Hope, PA).

Erika was invited to speak at WIP (NYC) as a part of their visual artist panel about the origin and progress of her Compatibility Series.

Collectors Lawrence Benenson (MoMa Board of Trustees), Paul Labrecque (Founder Paul Labrecque Salon & Spas), and Cyma Zarghami (President Viacom Kids and Family Group) all have Erika’s work in their private collections.

Erika has been covered by press outlets L’Etage Magazine (“Conception Contemporary Art Fair in NYC”), The Bucks County Herald ("A-Space Gallery's Solo Artist is Self-Made”), Posture Magazine (Winter Mendelson Editor-in-Chief: “You’re Invited: Erika Rachel’s Closing Reception”), and Crafty 88’s ("Interview with Artist Erika Rachel”).

As part of her professional practice she belongs to many organizations and supports the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Guild Hall Museum and the Springs Improvement Society of East Hampton NY.

In an effort to show others the therapeutic power of abstract art, Erika regularly leads group workshops, teaching people to paint from their hearts.

She’s contributed to many local community projects and events such as her hometown’s “Milford Alive”, and hangs her work in the nearby cafe’s. She favors Pulp (Frenchtown, NJ), a vegan and vegetarian friendly restaurant, to display her latest work.

Erika’s has also worked in public spaces as the resident artist for Sourland Coffee in Hopewell NJ, but her studio and residence are located in Milford NJ, a humble rivertown along the Delaware.

She’s represented by Freedom Art and Music Gallery, Reinboth Design Group and Hutchins AMC.
