48x48 Acrylic on canvas, 2014
I was in an incredibly difficult situation. One that seemed to only be resolved by legal action and I was too afraid to take those steps. I was uncomfortable and felt like I had no escape. One night to sooth my frustrations I called a friend and picked up my paintbrush. Without thinking I painted what I felt and when I stepped back I realized I’d painted myself into a corner of the canvas. A “window” of optimism existed in the middle, like a view of an ocean and a beautiful future. I knew I had to accept being “locked-in” to the situation till time found a resolution.
